Verso Corp’s (NYSE:VRS) stock is moving higher on Thursday after the company announced that it is commencing a “modified Dutch auction” tender offer to purchase for cash shares of its Class A common stock, par value $0.01 per share, for an aggregate purchase price of not more than $55.0 million. Shares of VRS are up 13.50% at $17.10.

Gannett Co Inc (NYSE:GCI) is trading higher by 9% at $4.83, off a session high of $5.10. Last week, the company a first-quarter loss of $142 million or $1.06 a share, from a year-ago loss of $80 million. Total revenue during the quarter fell to $777 million, from a year quarterly revenue of $948 million. Analysts were projecting a loss of 17 cents a share.

A-Mark Precious Metals Inc (NASDAQ:AMRK) continues to move up and reached a new 52-week high after the company reported first-quarter results. Revenues during the latest quarter grew 63% year-over-year to $2.05 billion from $1.26 billion. Net income also jumped to $76.6 million or $8.84 a share, from $11.3 million or $1.61 a share in the same quarter of the last year. AMRK stock is up by 11.27% at $43.70 after hitting a new high of $46. The stock has gained about 70% so far this year.
