Although there was no news for such a big rally, social media were cheering the stock higher, calling for another short squeeze. AMC stock has skyrocketed 580% so far this year.
Express, Inc. (NYSE:EXPR) is another notable gainer as the stock has surged 16.50% to $3.32 by the afternoon trading session. Columbus, Ohio-based fashion retailer Express will be hoping that the economic recovery will lead American consumers back into its 607 retail stores in this year’s second half, perhaps eager to spend some of their latest stimulus check on the company’s signature line of casual men’s and women’s clothing.
Multiplan Corp (NYSE:MPLN) is moving up by 16.75% to $7.18 after hitting a session high of $7.40. The company reported a 1.1% year-over-year jump in revenue to $254.9 million, from $252.0 million. The company swung to a profit of $45.9 million for Q1 2021 compared to a net loss of $2.6 million for Q1 2020. For FY2021, the company projects to have $1.04 and $1.10 billion in revenue and Adjusted EBITDA between $750 and $790 million.
BRT Apartments Corp (NYSE:BRT) stock is surging 12.40% to $18.12. The company announced it has terminated the contemplated underwritten public offering of its common stock previously announced on May 10, 2021. As a result of such termination, no shares of common stock will be sold pursuant to the offering.
