Japan July jobless rate rises to 2.7%, job availability edges up

TOKYO (Reuters) – Japan’s jobless rate in July rose to 2.7% from 2.5% in June, government data showed on Friday.

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate compared with economists’ median forecast of 2.5%.

The jobs-to-applicants ratio in July rose to 1.24 from 1.23 in June, separate labour ministry data showed. The median forecast was for 1.23.
