Double Digit NASDAQ Stock Winners: AEMD, AMSWA, CLNE

Following are major stock gainers on Nasdaq in Wednesday’s trading session:

Aethlon Medical, Inc  (NASDAQ:AEMD) was the active stock gainer on Wednesday. The stock soared 388.24% to close $10.79. The micro-cap medical technology company Aethlon Medical (NASDAQ:AEMD) has added nearly fourfold in value in the pre-market on above-average volume after Reddit users discussed a June 8 report from Zacks on the potential of the company’s Hemopurifier.

Citing two feasibility studies conducted by the company on COVID patients and patients with head and neck cancer, Zacks analyst Marla Marin predicts an expanded commercial opportunity for Hemopurifier.

American Software (NASDAQ:AMSWA) was another notable winner as the stock went up 39.06% to end the session at $28.27 after the company reported fiscal fourth-quarter earnings that demonstrated its progress in transitioning toward a recurring-revenue model.

For the period, which ended April 30, total revenue declined by 2% to $28.6 million, but that contraction was a function of how revenue gets recognized under a subscription model. American Software’s subscription fees jumped by 28% to $8.1 million, and its cloud services annual contract value (ACV) increased by 45% to $38.3 million. Recurring revenue streams for maintenance and cloud subscriptions comprised 60% of total sales, up from 57% a year ago. That all resulted in adjusted net earnings jumping by 185% year over year to $3.6 million, or $0.11 per share.

Clean Energy Fuels Corp (NASDAQ:CLNE) surged 31.52% to $13.02. The natural-gas fueling network provider has been stuck in the doldrums for years, but recent gains have investors looking more closely at the company once again.

Institutional investors have been skeptical of Clean Energy Fuels’ long-term strategy, but not for the reasons you might expect. The company has actually done a reasonably good job of bringing on customers, with the high-profile signing of an agreement with Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) perhaps the biggest deal for the small supplier of natural-gas fueling stations.
