Alfi, Inc. (NASDAQ:ALF) was the active stock gainer on Tuesday . The stock soared 109% to close $16.29. Some social media users and one portfolio manager cited a Benzinga.com report that Alfi planned to buy back stock as helping to fuel the rally. An investor relations representative for Alfi pointed Reuters to the report without providing details. The stock had already surged almost 127% last week after it announced the rollout of tablets to Uber and Lyft drivers nationwide.
County Bancorp, Inc. (NASDAQ:ICBK) was another notable winner as the stock went up 47% to end the session at $34.45. Nicolet Bankshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: NCBS) and County Bancorp, Inc., today jointly announced the execution of a definitive merger agreement pursuant to which Nicolet will acquire County and its wholly-owned banking subsidiary, Investors Community Bank. Based on the financial results as of March 31, 2021, the combined company will have pro forma total assets of $7.5 billion, deposits of $6.3 billion, and loans of $4.9 billion, inclusive of Nicolet’s prior acquisition announcement of Mackinac Financial Corporation on April 12, 2021.
Idera Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDRA) surged 41% to $1.58 after an SEC filing after the closing bell yesterday showed that Chief Operating Officer Daniel Soland bought 50K shares at $1.19/share on June 18. The executive now owns 78,843 shares. Earlier this month, Board Chairman Michael Dougherty bought 85K shares at $1.19 a piece. Idera shares have struggled this year and are down 41% year-to-date. The company’s most advanced asset is tilsotilomod in phase 3 for anti-PD-1 refractory advanced melanoma in combination with Bristol-Myers Squibb’s Yervoy (ipilimumab).
