Big Rock Partners Acquisition Corp (NASDAQ:BRPA) was the active stock gainer on Thursday. The stock soared 88% to close at $36.087 after hitting a high of $48.80. Recently, the company’s SPAC merger target, NeuroRx, on Monday confirmed dosing of the first patient in a Phase 3 trial of ZYESAMI was announced by the NIH last week. The trial, designated as ACTIV-3b: Therapeutics for Severely Ill Inpatients With COVID-19, will study ZYESAMI to treat severely ill COVID-19 patients.
Urban One Inc (NASDAQ:UONEK) was another notable winner as the stock went up 29.21% to close at $4.60. The stock saw a total volume of 51.40 million shares, well above its average volume of 7.43 million shares. Earlier this week, in the first quarter, the company managed to generate a net income of $7000 and that is a considerable boost considering the fact that Urban One had actually made a loss in the prior-year period. The company noted that it made profits of 1 cent a share.
PDS Biotechnology Corp (NASDAQ: PDSB) went up another 26.70% on Thursday, extending its weekly gains to over 60%. Earlier this week, announced publication of abstract #2501 by the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). The abstract summarizing interim data from the National Cancer Institute (NCI)-led phase 2 trial has been accepted for oral presentation at the 2021 ASCO Annual Meeting taking place June 4-8.
