Wall St opens higher in shortened Black Friday session

(Reuters) – U.S. stocks opened slightly higher on Black Friday, with Wall Street’s main indexes set for monthly gains as the holiday shopping season kicked off, putting retail companies in the spotlight.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 38.0 points, or 0.08%, at the open to 44,760.05. The S&P 500 rose 5.2 points, or 0.09%, at the open to 6,003.98​, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 27.0 points, or 0.14%, to 19,087.467 at the opening bell.
