(Reuters) – Universal Music Group on Wednesday said its unit in Greater China has entered a global digital distribution partnership with Chinese entertainment company TF Entertainment.
“Targeting markets outside Mainland China, TF Entertainment will leverage UMG’s global distribution capabilities and marketing network, to further elevate C-pop’s prominence on a global stage,” the world’s biggest music label said in a statement.
TF Entertainment is active in the C-POP (Chinese popular music) genre and is behind acts, such as TFBOYS and Teens In Times.
The agreement follows a similar deal announced in March with South Korea’s HYBE, as UMG expands in Asia.
