Anavex Life Sciences Corp (NASDAQ: AVXL) gained 19% to $29.46 after the company reported that in a proof-of-concept Phase 2 trial of ANAVEX 2-73 in patients with Parkinson’s disease dementia, ANAVEX 2-73 treatment resulted in a significant increase in the expression of the SIGMAR1 mRNA biomarker that significantly correlated with improvements in the primary and secondary clinical efficacy endpoints.
