BioNano Genomics Inc (NASDAQ: BNGO) is one of the notable gainers and now up by 19% at $5.26. Late Thursday, The company reported that revenue during the latest quarter almost tripled to $3.2 million, compared to a year ago revenue of $1.1 million. Analysts were projecting revenue of $3 million. On the other hand, net loss trimmed to $9.9 million, compared with $10.5 million in the year-ago period, in line with analysts’ estimates.
BIOLASE Inc (NASDAQ: BIOL) gained 20.35% to $0.70. The company posted a 70% growth in topline in the first quarter to $8.1 million, topping analysts estimates of $7.79 million. The revenue was driven by a 139% jump in Laser system sales. The gross margin improved by 500 bps to 34%, compared to 29% for the first quarter of 2020. The higher gross margin reflects the impact of the increase in revenues from the COVID-19 pandemic and increased average selling prices for products sold in the U.S. during the first quarter.
MoSys Inc. (NASDAQ: MOSY) is the biggest gainer and soared 48% to $4.27 on hefty volume on Friday without any news. Last week, the company released its first-quarter results. Total revenue during the quarter fell to $1.3 million, compared with $1.6 million for the previous quarter and $1.3 million for the first quarter of 2020. On an adjusted basis, the company had a loss of $1.3 million, or 28 cents a share, compared to $1.0 million, or 27 cents a share in a year-ago quarter.
