Ramaco Resources Inc (NASDAQ:METC) stock is gaining momentum and surged over 16.70% in early morning trade after reporting first-quarter results. The company reported net income of $4.1 million, or 10 cents a share, up from a year ago quarter net income of $2.0 million or 5 cents a share. Overall sales volume during the latest quarter grew 1% year-over-year to 422,000 tons, from 416,000 tons.
Fuel Tech Inc (NASDAQ:FTEK) is another mover as the stock gained 10% to $2.14, well off the session high of $2.52. Late Wednesday, the company said that revenue during the first quarter came in at $5.0 million, up 33.20% from a year ago quarter revenue of $3.8 million. Net income jumped to $0.4 million, or a penny a share, compared to a net loss of $2.6 million, or 10 cents a share, in Q1 2020.
Vertex Energy Inc (NASDAQ:VTNR) stock moved up by over 10% on heavy volume on Thursday after the company released its Q1 earnings. Net income during the quarter was $1.0 million, compared to $2.7 million in the first quarter of 2020. Adjusted EBITDA jumped to $6.5 million, from $1.6 million in the prior-year period. Total production first quarter increased to the highest level since the second quarter of 2019.
